The Online Journal of Technology and Ethics accepts submissions in all areas of research pertaining to its core mission of illuminating ethical and philosophical issues that arise in the complex and shifting landscape of emerging technology. Our aim is to provide high-quality research deployed in a variety of multimedia formats ranging from traditional academic research papers to multi-modal essays and visual presentations. Our focus is on spreading this research to a general philosophical audience. The issues presented by recent developments in technology affect us all, and we strongly believe that high quality research on these topics should be available to a public audience.

Past editions of the Journal have been divided into six sub categories: AI, Computing, and Robotics; Information Technology, Privacy, and Entertainment; Transhumanism and Augmentation; Biotechnology, and Gene Editing; Space Technology and Infrastructure; and Geoengineering and Environmental Ethics. Editions are released semi-annually.

The present edition focuses on ethical and philosophical issues raised by virtual reality technologies.

The Journal has been hosted by multiple universities but is currently hosted by the Tufts Experimental College, and is administered by Jordan Kokot as part of EX-0014: Virtual Reality and the Ethics of Future Technology

NOTE: This website is part of a class project—submissions to the Online Journal of Technology and Ethics are presently closed to the public. If you would like more information, please email Jordan at jdkokot@bu.edu.
